CDOC Version 8 (Inheritence/Containment Report, Java Analysis)

Version-8 Upgrades are available (for registered owners of older CDOC versions)

Version-8 of CDOC :
- started shipments 20 Feb, 1999.
- generates a new C++/Java class Inheritence/Containment report (example v8cppI2A.HTM)
  - (in addition to the previous Version-7 class tree)
- processes Java(tm) source (example v8java.HTM)
- has a new Java-1.1 based javTree Viewer
  - with basic printing of the graphic tree
  - with the ability to save/restore viewer settings (font, colors, etc)

Version-7 and Version-8 of C-DOC:
- have both ASCII text and HTML Reports (example v8c.HTM)
  - Version7.0.3 (and Version-8) have enhanced HTML reports
    - (to split up large HTML reports into multiple cross-linked smaller reports)
- have a Java (tm) Graphic Tree Viewer (example v8c.HTM)
  - Requires a Java enabled WebBrowser or an installed JavaVM
  - Version7.0.3 (and Version-8) have an improved JavTree Graphic Viewer
    - (Java 1.1 fixes, hide/show externals)

Essentially, every C-DOC ASCII text report has an equivalent HTML report. After C-DOC analyzes your C/C++ files, the results can now also be browsed using your Web Browser (you do not need to copy the results onto a Web Server unless you want others to also be able to browse the results). Extensive hyper-text links let you quickly jump between related sections and/or other C-DOC reports.

Version-7 and 8 contain a Java-based graphic tree viewer for viewing graphic trees (you can run the Applet/Application either using a locally installed javaVM or a java-enabled WebBrowser). C-DOC produces both Class trees and Function Caller/Called trees. If you are using a Java enabled browser and choose to view the example v8cHGR.HTM Java Graphic Tree report NOTE that:

Downloading the Java class files over the web takes up to one minute
- if the CDOC product is installed and run from your local machine then it starts much quicker (no network downloading of class files required)
Because you are running the demo from the network (rather than locally installed), the FIRST time you do something (like change the tree style or invoke exit) there is a network delay as that additional new code is download onto your machine.
Also note that Windows browsers with older java 1.0 runtimes cannot change the JavTree node or text colors
- (this bug is fixed in Java 1.1 browsers)
